stay green

Our green commitment…

(2009) Due to a major commitment to preserving the Earth's environment and our planet's important natural resources, Mid Valley Press has been triple certified through the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

Through the extensive use of environmentally safe printing materials and techniques, Mid Valley Press has demonstrated its leadership position as an eco-friendly company focused on reducing global damage and promoting environmental responsibility. As an FSC-, SFI-,and PEFC-certified provider, we can assure clients that certified paper is manufactured from trees grown within a designated forest as part of a responsible re-growth program.

We have also made a commitment to the environmentally safe disposal of raw materials and by-products from its manufacturing process through the recycling of paper, inks, plates and chemical solutions with local service providers. In addition, all employees are committed to the "green" program to ensure each is helping to preserve the Earth's resources.

"Mid Valley Press is proud to have this significant triple designation," said Robert Schreiber, president of Mid Valley Press. "Our entire company's commitment to ecologically friendly practices is an important characteristic that we are pleased to be able to pass along to our clients. These certifications also reinforce the value of our products and services and our leadership role in the ever-expanding world of media."

Mid Valley Press clients are permitted to use the FSC, SFI, or PEFC logos on their printed materials. Sustainable Forestry Initiative-certified products are produced at paper mills that utilize SFI-certified fibers.

Mid Valley Press has state-of-the-art printing capabilities that focus both on traditional offset printing and digital printing utilizing variable imaging. We provide our clients with a vast array of printing products and services from design and logistics to fulfillment and mailing resulting in faster, more accurate and cost-effective communications.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) THE FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL (FSC)
FSC is a nonprofit organization devoted to encouraging the responsible management of the Earth's forests. The council regulates the practices that could harm or displace the homes of people and wildlife, such as illegal and non-sanctioned logging. Chain of custody certification signifies that the paper Mid Valley Press uses comes from companies committed to the use of sanctioned resources that do not endorse illegal logging practices.

The Sustainable Forestry Inititiative (SFI) THE SUSTAINABLE FORESTRY INITIATIVE (SFI)
program is a comprehensive system of principles, objectives and performance measures developed by professional foresters, conservationists and scientists, among others. These measures combine the perpetual growing and harvesting of trees with the long-term protection of wildlife, plants, soil and water quality. There are currently over 150 million acres of forestland in North America enrolled in the SFI® program, making it among the world's largest sustainable forestry programs.

Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) PROGRAM FOR THE ENDORSEMENT OF FOREST CERTIFICATION (PEFC)
PEFC is an independent, non-profit, nongovernmental organization that focuses on sustainable management of the world's forests by ensuring that the same high standards of sustainability are applied by all its endorsed certification systems around the globe.
